Each January over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, Troop 24 takes on a true high-adventure experience and goes Snow Camping. For two nights, Scouts camp in tents on snow, embracing the challenge of cold weather conditions.
Days are packed with fun activities like sledding and snowshoeing, but this trip is no walk in the park requiring preparation, training, and the right gear.
Snow Camping is a unique Troop 24 tradition that builds skills, confidence, and unforgettable memories.
Each February over Presidents' Day weekend, our Troop carries out a ski trip to Mount Shasta. We head up on Friday and return Monday, enjoying two full days of skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing. Our home base is the local Senior Center, where we roll out sleeping bags and sleep overnight on the floor.
It's a fantastic trip for the whole family, and a great opportunity to invite friends. Whether you're into downhill skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing, there’s something for everyone.
